Dr. Gertz
Associate DVM
Dr. Gertz is a dedicated and compassionate small animal veterinarian with experience in providing exceptional care for pets of all kinds. She was born and raised in Centennial, Colorado where she developed her love of the mountains. She grew up horseback riding and developed a close relationship with her trainer, which fostered her passion for horses and led her to complete her undergraduate studies in equine science at Colorado State University. While in undergrad, she worked as a technician for a small animal emergency clinic in Castle Rock, Colorado.
Dr. Gertz earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Grafton, Massachusetts before moving to sunny southern California; and now, she has a love for both the mountains and the beach! She is inspired by all creatures great and small but is passionate about cardiology, ophthalmology, surgery, and small ruminant medicine. Dr. Gertz believes in the importance of open communication and works closely with pet owners to educate them about their pets’ health and wellness. She regularly participates in continuing education and professional development to stay current with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine. She lives in Oceanside with her dogs Sunny and Maisy, and outside of her professional life, enjoys surfing, weight training, running, and cooking.
Dr. Luna
Associate DVM
Dr. Brittney Luna grew up in Temecula, California where her love of animals and medicine blossomed. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at Iowa State University, and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Science at Colorado State before moving to Kansas where she graduated with a Veterinary Doctorate degree from Kansas State University.
Dr. Luna enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and spent several years working with horses, cattle, goats, and alpacas in addition to rural dogs and cats. She has a special interest in pain management, reproduction, and soft tissue surgery.
In her free time, Dr. Luna enjoys spending time with her husband, Alex and son, Mason on their small hobby farm with several horses, goats, cats, and dogs. As a family, they enjoy traveling, hiking, golfing, horseback riding and Scuba diving.
Dr. Luna is excited to be part of the SoCal Veterinary Hospital team and looks forward to providing exceptional care and building lasting relationships with both pets and their owners.
